About Us
A TRIBUTE TO JOEL O'CAMPO AND THE PROMISE LAND BAND MAKES WAY FOR THE AFTERPARTY
I first met Joel O’Campo when I recorded the single Hollywood with Ben Obi of Savanah Street Music. Ben knew Joel and thus asked him to come in to record the drum section of the song . I loved what Joel contributed to this single so I asked him if he would like to play a release show with me. After that he and I started playing with Bob and Glenda Niemiec of Why Worry?. We called ourselves Chris Davies and The Hollywood Three. We then recorded Good Life and created a 7” inch record that led us to booking the legendary Turf Club for an album release show. Bob and Glenda had to move on to other things so Joel helped me put together a dynamic group that became known as The Promise Land Band. It included Larissa Beck, Cory Hinkle, Jon Anderson, KC and the one and only Joel O’Campo. Later Dan Baker would replace Cory and Sylvia Scoggin would replace KC. There was never a doubt that Joel was the heart and soul of the PLB which is why when he moved to Iowa its soul moved there with him. I can’t thank Joel and all the members of the PLB enough for all they did over the past 4.5 years. We reached heights that I only dreamed were possible and it was the absolute time of my life. While the PLB party may be over, there are still some sticking around for the Afterparty. Chris Davies & The Afterparty begins a new era of music and good times. The Afterparty will be inhabited by Larissa Beck, Dan Baker and Joe Nelson but it may serve as a place for many a musician to come and play. We are excited to get The Afterparty started and look forward to seeing you down the road.

The rumors are true. Chris and The Afterparty are planning to begin recording a full link vinyl album. This album will include new songs and well as some re-recordings and some originals from band member Joe Curtis Nelson. The current working title of this album is The Long Goodbye. Stay tuned for updates as we take this exciting journey.
